Citizen helps Milwaukee police solve northwest side armed robbery

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police, with the help of a citizen, arrested two suspects for a northwest side armed robbery shortly after the crime occurred.

District Four officers responded to the Foot Locker store, at 8016 W. Brown Deer Road, around 4:50 p.m. on August 17 for a report of an armed robbery.

Employees at the store said two armed suspects entered the store, demanded money from the cash register, and then fled on foot. A witness subsequently told officers the suspects ran into a nearby home in the 9100 block of N. 75th Street.

The suspects, a 17-year-old Milwaukee male and a 22-year-old Milwaukee man, were arrested at the residence a short time later.

MPD will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
