Charges filed in fatal crash near 91st & Capitol

MILWAUKEE -- Charges were filed Thursday morning against Sierra Pugh in connection with a fatal accident that occurred near the intersection of 91st and Capitol in Milwaukee on Sunday. The accused is 24-year-old Sierra Pugh.

Pugh is charged with two counts -- homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle (prohibited alcohol concentration). If convicted on these charges, she could face up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

Police say Pugh was traveling at a high rate of speed early Sunday morning when she lost control of her vehicle, and struck a tree in the median.
34-year-old Patricia Wnuk of West Allis was the passenger in that vehicle and died at the scene.
Pugh suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
