CDC helps states test specimens for Enterovirus D68

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is paying close attention to Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68).

The CDC's website indicates EV-D68 has been rarely reported in the U.S for the last 40 years. But now, hospitals in the Midwest are seeing more children than usual with severe respiratory illness caused by EV-D68. For now, the CDC is watching this situation closely and helping states with the testing of specimens.
