Black Friday shoppers take in deals at Kohl's, Best Buy

Kohl's stores opened at midnight on Black Friday, and one store manager says they've seen a steady customer stream since the doors opened. For the first time, Kohl's will stay open for 24 hours, and they're also offering $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent, which is also a first for Kohl's.

FOX6's Angelica Duria hit up Kohl's on Green Bay Road in Brown Deer Friday morning, and spoke with store manager Jeannine McMahon, who says so far Friday morning, things were going well at the store. "It's really nice for our customers that we were able to open at midnight. It's been really enjoyable seeing a lot of midnight customers with great holiday spirit," McMahon said.

McMahon says Kohl's offered over 500 doorbusters for those early-bird customers, and those deals are offered until 1:00 p.m. Friday. "(Black Friday) is a big day for us. We are seeing a really good customer stream, and having a fun time with our customers for the holidays," McMahon said.

Kohl's in Brown Deer will be open 24 hours on Black Friday - keeping doors open until midnight Saturday. They plan to reopen at 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning, and will offer customers 18 more shopping hours on Saturday.

The Best Buy in Fox Point opened at 5:00 a.m. Friday, unlike many other Best Buys that had a midnight opening. The Fox Point store couldn't open until 5:00 in accordance with their conditional use permit from the village. The store could have submitted an application to adjust opening hours back in October, but did not.

Hundreds of customers waited in line at the store, and one hot item many were waiting to purchase was a 42 inch Sharp LCD TV for just $199. Others were on the hunt for electronic gadgets like tablet PCs, cell phones, and laptops. One customer said he came out to the store well in advance of Friday's 5:00 a.m. opening. "I got here Wednesday, and I'm looking for the 42 inch TV, same as everybody else," the customer said.

Another customer said he doesn't normally participate in the Black Friday craziness. "I don't normally come out this early, but it was a great deal, and I'm out here now and will stick around and see what happens," another customer said.
