Biden: "Find that special someone in the early voting line"

(CNN) -- Why should one vote early? Because you might just meet that special someone, Joe Biden says.

The vice president offered that as one of the top ten reasons to vote early in an appearance taped Thursday, November 1st to run as the Top Ten list feature on David Letterman's "Late Show." A clip of the appearance was posted on the CBS website.

"Single and looking to mingle? Find that special someone in that early voting line," he said.

Another reason?

"If you vote early, you don't have to pay taxes," he said. He then turns and looks off screen. "I'm sorry, I'm being told that's not accurate."

The late-night comedy shows have also had a few laughs at Biden's expense, poking fun at his gaffes and animated debate showing.

But when President Barack Obama appeared on the show of one of Letterman's top competitors, Jay Leno, earlier this month, he had kind words for his no. 2.

"Here's the thing about Joe. He wears his heart on his sleeve," he said. "He's the most warm, generous person I know, and he is unbelievably smart about not just domestic issues, but foreign policy.

"He's fearless. He's not worrying about the politics of things, and I could not have a better vice president than Joe Biden," Obama continued. "I could not be more proud."

In his Thursday routine, the vice president also took on a serious tone and noted the devastation wrought by Superstorm Sandy earlier in the week, from which the northeast is still recovering.

"I just hope everything has come along all right in New York," "You've been devastated in New York and New Jersey and everyone's thinking of you and we're doing everything we can to help."
