MILWAUKEE -- Violence turned to chaos during a triple shooting near 85th and Grantosa Wednesday night, June 26. The shooting left one woman dead and two others hurt. Police say the gunman is still on the loose.

Feelings of anguish on Thursday, June 27 weighed heavy on neighbors of the woman who was killed

Milwaukee police say the incident began with a man and woman arguing outside. A relative came to help but police say the argument turned physical.

Neighbors like Myles Tucker said he was woken up by gunshots.

"The first was like 'pop.' Then there was a pause, a 'pop,' then a quick six 'pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,'" said Tucker.

Police said the gunman shot three woman, ages 41, 23, and 21. The 41-year-old woman died at the scene.

"It made me think of my mom," Tucker said.

"I just heard some loud noises in the street, and then the gunshots," Hines said.

Hines knows firsthand what it means to lose a loved one to gun violence. Her son, Donovan, was shot and killed in November of 2017.

"When things like this happen after you've been affected by gun violence, it's a trigger for me and it's not easy," said Hines.

Also a Salvation Army chaplain, Hines offered words of support to the victim's family.

"You're not walking this walk alone," said Hines.

Police are still searching for the gunman. If you have any information that could help authorities find the suspect, you're asked to contact the Milwaukee Police Department.
