17-year-old girl accused of running down two girls with car
MENASHA -- A 17-year-old Menasha girl accused of running down two other girls with her car has been charged.
Prosecutors have charged Ashli Lindvig with one count of hit and run involving great bodily harm and one count of second degree recklessly endangering safety.
Prosecutors say Sunday night, Lindvig drove her car at an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old while they were walking in Neenah. Both victims were injured, and the 18-year-old remains in the hospital.
Police believe the incident stemmed from an argument over a boy.
Wednesday was Lindvig's first appearance in court. Her family and friends were there as well. "I know Ashli, and I know she wouldn't do that. The allegations against her - I don't think she should go to jail at all. She's a really good person and she wouldn't do that. She would not just run over some kids," Kristi Schoder said.
Lindvig is due back in court Monday.
