14-year-old Starbuck Middle School student charged, accused of passing medication at school

RACINE -- FOX6 News has learned charges have been filed against a 14-year-old Starbuck Middle School student accused of passing out prescription medication at school last Thursday, January 28th.

Five students had to be taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

Racine County District Attorney Richard Chiapete tells FOX6 News a 10-count juvenile petition was filed in which the 14-year-old was charged with five counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and five counts of delivery of a prescription drug.

It's unclear what type of medication was allegedly handed out by this student, or where this student may have gotten the medication.

Officials were notified of this case around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the five students taken to the hospital were between the ages of 13 and 14.
