PENNSYLVANIA (WITI) -- A Pennsylvania teenager is facing two years in a juvenile facility after posting photos to Facebook -- showing him simulating a sex act with a statue of Jesus.
WTAJ-TV reports the statue, depicting Jesus kneeling down to pray, sits outside a church in a rural town in southern Pennsylvania.
WTAJ reports a 14-year-old boy has been charged with desecration of a venerable object.
The boy is charged under a law that hasn't been used since it was put on the books in 1927. A District Attorney said he wanted to see the boy charged under the rarely-utilzed law because of how "proud" the boy seemed to be of his actions -- with the District Attorney saying "the only reason it was done was to offend people."
Officials with the church that owns the statue say the teen has personally apologized -- saying they'd like to see nothing more than the teen partake in community service, preferably at the church.
