MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver is being praised for her great work in finding and helping a lost child.Karen Martinez was driving her bus route early Monday morning, October 9th, when she found a lost 5-year-old boy near the area of 84th and Lancaster just before 7:00 a.m..The young boy was cold and had no shoes or socks on.MCTS said Martinez brought him inside the bus to warm up as they waited for police to arrive.In the video, you can see a passenger on the bus helped by offering the young boy their coat to keep him warm.According to a MCTS Facebook post, investigators say the 5-year-old has been reunited with his family, thanks to Martinez.Officials said this is the fifth time in the past year that an MCTS bus driver has found lost children.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. government is urging the world airline community to ban large, personal electronic devices like laptops from checked luggage because of the potential for a catastrophic fire.The Federal Aviation Administration said in a paper filed recently with a U.N. agency that its tests show that when a laptop's rechargeable lithium-ion battery overheats in close proximity to an aerosol spray can, it can cause an explosion capable of disabling an airliner's fire suppression system.

HeartSaver Heroes: 1st responders honored after using AED to save airport worker's life 👍
MILWAUKEE -- Three Milwaukee County sheriff's deputies and the captain of the Airport Division were recognized as "HeartSaver Heroes" by the American Heart Association Thursday, October 19th during a special ceremony at General Mitchell International Airport.Deputies Steven Gunn, Cary Startz and Daniel Zielinski, Captain Mark Witek and Joshua Jackson were recognized as HeartSaver Heroes.According to a press release, Jackson in November of 2016 began performing CPR on his co-worker, Moira Glavan, who experienced sudden cardiac arrest inside Concourse E at the airport.Gunn, Startz and Zielinski, along with Witek, responded to the call with an AED (automated external defibrillator) and shocked her heart back into rhythm.Gunn took turns alternating chest compressions and rescue breaths along with the team from Airport Fire Rescue 9, where Glavan's husband is a firefighter, until she was revived.PHOTO GALLERYDuring the ceremony, Gunn said this was emotional for him because his father died when he was 13 from a heart attack.According to the release, the HeartSaver Hero award is presented to people who take action to save a life outside of a hospital setting by performing CPR and/or employing the use of an AED.
