Bucks tip of search for Milwaukee's top talent

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are working in conjunction with University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Marquette University to find fun, energetic and talented individuals eager to showcase their skills in front of thousands of fans at the BMO Harris Bradley Center this season.

The Bucks will hold open auditions for their game night entertainers, including national anthem singers, Young Bucks, Grand Dancers, and Hoop Troop members on several dates in September.

On Wednesday, September 10th, auditions for the Bucks Hoop Troop will take place at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on 1001 N. Fourth St., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hoop Troop is the in-game entertainment crew responsible for crown interaction, on-court promotions, concourse activities, and prize giveaways. Hoop Troop is also involved in various event sin the community. Candidates must be at least 18-years-old, and possess an energetic and outgoing personality.

After weeks of recruitment on local college campuses, more than 70 candidates have already signed up to compete for the troop. The team will provide shuttles to and from both UWM, and Marquette University campuses to the BMO Harris Bradley Center for students interested in trying out.

Additionally, the Bucks are offering professional singers and karaoke stars the opportunity to showcase their vocals for the chance to perform on the Bucks court. The national anthem auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 17th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Individuals or performance groups of all ages will be invited to perform the anthem in its entirety for a panel of judges.

All candidates are encouraged (but not required) to bring a performance resume, and those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Tryouts for the Bucks Grand Dancers will be held at the team's training facility at 3501 S. Lake Dr., in St. Francis on Tuesday, September 16th, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Bucks Grand Dancers, made up of men and women over the age of 55, is entering its eighth year as an entertainment fixture at Bucks home games.

The Young Bucks Dance Team returns for its second season and is open to girls and boys ages 7 to 13. Any kids with experience in dance, cheerleading, tumbling, break dancing, or martial arts are encouraged to audition. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, September 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bucks training facility in St. Francis.
