Wisconsin youth hunt set to begin next month

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Young hunters will get a chance to stalk deer when Wisconsin's annual youth hunt gets underway next month.

The hunt is set for Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. Hunters between the ages of 10 and 15 can take to the woods with or without hunter education certification if they have an adult mentor with them.

The hunt is open to all state resident and non-resident children with a gun deer license and appropriate tags. One adult can't accompany more than two youth hunters, however.
