U.S. Postal Service encourages you to drop your mail on Sundays

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- With less than three weeks until Christmas, the Milwaukee Post Office is encouraging customers to drop all their holiday cards and letters in postal blue collection boxes, especially on Sundays, December 8 and 15.

Customers should also remember to deposit all cards and letters loosely when they drop holiday mail into a blue collection box. They should never wrap cards or letters together with string, bow, rubber bands or paper clips.

“This can slow down mail processing and possibly damage postal machines,” said Milwaukee Postmaster Easton Wright in a news release.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
