Two parachutists seriously injured at Chicago's Air & Water Show

CHICAGO -- Two U.S. Army parachutists are hurt while performing at Chicago's Air & Water Show.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15th -- just about 30 minutes after the show kicked off.

One of the Golden Knights parachutists landed on the sand on North Avenue Beach. Witnesses say it looked as if he landed wrong and injured his leg.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and loaded the man onto a stretcher. Video captured from the scene shows the parachutist holding up a 'hang ten' to everyone on the beach as he was escorted away.

According to WGN, another parachutist reportedly hit a building and was seriously injured near Schiller and Lake Shore Drive. That man was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
