Train collides with van, nobody hurt

DELAFIELD -- A Canadian Pacific Railroad train collided with a van in the Town of Delafield early Saturday, September 15th. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

The collision happened around 8:20 a.m. on Highway KE at Glacier Rd.

The first deputies arrived on the scene to find the driver of the van standing on the side of the road. He was not hurt.

Investigators learned the van was pulling a trailer on Hwy. KE when he was unable to stop prior to the railroad tracks. The driver was able to get out of the van before the train struck it.

The 84-car Canadian Pacific Railroad train impacted the van and pushed it approximately one half mile before coming to a rest.

This incident is being investigated by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and the Canadian Pacific Railroad Police.
