Traffic flow back to normal on I-41 near Fond du Lac/Dodge Co. line after oil or fuel spill

FOND DU LAC -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's office says a fuel or oil spill on southbound I-41 from Fond du Lac south to the Fond du Lac/Dodge County line made the interstate extremely slippery Monday morning, May 1st.

Officials say multiple vehicles are in the ditch and highway crews are en route to work on the issue.

As of 10:15 a.m. the Fond du Lac County Highway Department finished spreading sand on the interstate which, along with the rain ending, significantly improved driving conditions.

Traffic flow is back to normal and all vehicles that slid off the interstate have been removed.

At this time, officials say they were not able to determine the source of the spill.
