Total loss: Greenfield firefighters discover opposum's nest on fire in vehicle's engine compartment

GREENFIELD -- Officials with the Greenfield Fire Department on Tuesday, September 27th made a shocking discovery upon being dispatched for a possible car fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned the vehicle wasn't on fire -- but an opossum's nest inside the engine compartment was!

Naturally, the opossum wasn't happy.

Fire officials said the nest was a total loss.

The opossum, however, was OK -- and turned over to the Greenfield Police Department for further questioning.
