Tax assistance still available for low-income, elderly, disabled, military

MILWAUKEE -- The state of Wisconsin wants to make sure those needing assistance filing their taxes know there is help out there in advance of the fast-approaching tax deadline.

State Department of Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler was at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center on Milwaukee's north side Thursday, March 29th.

The site offers free tax help for low-income individuals, seniors, people with disabilities and military families.

"People in those categories who need help filing their income taxes can come here and volunteers will walk them through the process and e-file their returns for them," Chandler said.

Taxes are due on April 17th this year.
