Supreme Court race: Wisconsin police association endorses Kloppenburg

MADISON — The Wisconsin Professional Police Association has endorsed Court of Appeals Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg in Wisconsin's Supreme Court race.

Executive Director Jim Palmer said in a statement that Kloppenburg has a deep understanding of the law and a demonstrated ability to be impartial. Palmer also said Kloppenburg has a longer track record than incumbent Rebecca Bradley.

The group interviewed both candidates before endorsing.

Bradley was appointed to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in 2012. She was later appointed to an appeals court and then the state Supreme Court in October.

Bradley has support from other law enforcement officials and organizations, including the Milwaukee Police Association. The election is April 5.
