Study finds more expensive weddings often lead to shorter marriages

Having the biggest, best wedding seems to be all the rage these days. But is it really worth it?

According to WREG, a 2014 study by Andrew M. Francis and Hugo M. Mialon of Emory University, suggests marriages tend to last longer if the couple spent less on the engagement ring and wedding.

3,000 participated in a survey to help complete the study. They included people in the U.S. who are married or used to be married, excluding widows. says an average wedding cost in 2013 is $30,000 -- now $32,000.

It seems the price is low when it comes to finding everlasting love.
