State treasurer's office has $40 million in unclaimed property

MADISON -- Could you have hundreds of dollars coming to you? You'll know on Sunday, April 1st!

That's when the Wisconsin State Treasurer will release the names of everyone with unclaimed property in the Sunday paper.

The state treasurer has nearly $40 million waiting to be claimed. The state treasurer's office has been holding unclaimed property since the early 1970s, and has $412 million to give back to rightful owners.

Milwaukee County has the most new names of people with unclaimed property than any other county in the state.
