St. Alphonsus in Greendale ready for services just one week after fire

GREENDALE -- There is still no word on what caused a fire on Christmas at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Greendale, but after just one week the church is ready for service. The church library and adjoining church need cleaning after a fire filled the building with smoke and soot.

Church School Principal Pat Wadiski showed FOX6 the work being done to restore the church. In the gathering area where smoke filled tiles were removed, the church is scrambling to prepare for weekend prayer.

Music Director Terri Pincowski shows us the community room where services will be held. While the nearby church remains a mess, he says voices will not be quieted this weekend.
