Sheriff Clarke re-issues crime alert regarding "knockout game"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Sheriff Clarke is re-issuing a crime alert on the vicious attacks referred to as the "knockout game." This, following news that similar attacks continue to occur across the nation -- including Wisconsin. .

Last week, Sheriff Clarke issued the following crime alert:

The “Knockout Game” is an unprovoked physical attack in public places where the suspect, walking with a group, punches an unsuspecting pedestrian in the face or head to knock them out with one punch as they walk by.  Often another member of the group records the attack.

Not alerting the public about this criminal behavior is not an effective crime prevention strategy.  This information is being put out to alert people to help them avoid being on the receiving end of these violent attacks.
