Salvation Army "Red Kettle Club" at Brookfield Central one of just five in the entire country!

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- The "Red Kettle Club" at Brookfield Central High School is one of just five in the whole United States!

The club works with the Salvation Army and their charity efforts.

Students spent their #GivingTuesday (December 2nd) preparing snack bags and cards for kids at Emergency Lodge, the Salvation Army's homeless shelter.

Club members say they hope the club catches on across the state.

"I sincerely hope that in the coming years other schools around this area see our club and decide that they'd like to emulate it or do something like it, and I think that would really spread the whole feeling of giving across Wisconsin," Saloni Rao said.

The club's next project is to make Christmas cards for families who will attend the Salvation Army's Christmas Family Feast, which feeds 8,000 to 10,000 people.
