Police officer plays hopscotch with homeless girl in viral video
HUNTINGTON BEACH, California — A police officer in California went to check out an alleged suspicious vehicle— but ended up making a young girl's day, WPIX reports.
Officer Zach Pricer received a call about a suspicious vehicle in Huntington Beach. When he went to check it out, he found a homeless mom and her 11-year-old daughter had been living in the van.
Pricer's partner helped the mom contact the Homeless Task Force to set up housing arrangements — while Officer Pricer began teaching the young girl hopscotch.
He taught her the rules, and showed of his hopscotch expertise. When its her turn, he lets her go with a warning after a miss-step and encourages her to try again. When she makes a tough-turn, she's greeted with a big high-five.
The sweet exchange was caught on video and posted on Facebook. The video has been viewed more than 400 thousand times.
