Police: Man surrenders after hours-long tactical situation in West Allis

WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police were on the scene near 63rd and Grant for hours, handling a tactical situation that began on Saturday night, March 25th.

Officers were dispatched to the neighborhood just before 10:00 p.m. for a "trouble call." The incident was later determined to be domestic violence related.

Police said officers made contact with a man in front of the home, who advised that his stepfather was highly intoxicated and assaulted his mother before arming himself with a shotgun.

A perimeter was established, and hours later, around 3:30 a.m., the man surrendered peacefully.

No one was hurt.

This case has now been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges.
