MPD seeking felon after four-year-old accidentally shoots child

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say they're investigating the accidental shooting of an eight-year-old boy near 8th and Burleigh St. on Thursday afternoon, March 29th.

Police suspect the eight-year-old child was accidentally shot by a four-year-old in the home when the child picked up a gun left out by the mother's boyfriend.  The Milwaukee Police Department says the eight-year-old boy's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

We're told the man who left the gun out is a felon. Investigators also say when he brought the gun into his girlfriend's house, he showed it to the children.

The felon left after the shooting. Police are still looking for him and the weapon that the child picked up at the home.
