Milwaukee shootings Wednesday; 1 dead, 1 wounded

Milwaukee police said one person was killed and another wounded in two different shootings Wednesday, May 27.

40th and Clarke

What we know:

The shooting happened at around 1:17 a.m. A 33-year-old victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

What we don't know:

Police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. They are still searching for whoever is responsible.

What we know:

A 42-year-old victim was shot and killed just before 10 a.m., according to police. The victim's family identified him as Greg McElwee.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting are under investigation.

Police said the suspect's vehicle was spotted in the area and a vehicle pursuit ensued, ending with a crash near 124th and Capitol.

A 29-year-old man was taken into custody, police said, and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
