MPS, UWM, Marquette classes canceled Tuesday amid extreme cold
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Public Schools, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Marquette University will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21.

MPS
MPS’ closure includes all schools and Central Services. All Tuesday after-school activities are canceled as well.

The school district made the announcement Monday, citing the extreme cold.
UWM
UWM is canceling all in-person classes, public events and student activities.
The UWM Student Union will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This includes the Food Center and Pantry and UW Credit Union. Golda Meir Library and UWM’s Waukesha library will be closed.
Marquette
All Marquette University classes regardless of modality – in-person, synchronous and asynchronous online – are canceled.

Assignments due are delayed, and instructors are expected to communicate with students regarding their expectations for missed or delayed assignments and to clarify any changes in class schedule due to the cancelation.
Extreme cold warning
The National Weather Service issued an extreme cold warning for all of southeast Wisconsin through 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.
