Milwaukee police offer updates on multiple investigations
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police provided several updates Monday, September 9th to cases they've been investigating over the last few days.
The victim of the homicide that happened near 39th and Meinecke on Friday, September 6th is identified 51-year-old John Keepers. A 26-year-old Milwaukee man who is a family member of the victim is in custody -- and will be referred to the District Attorney in the coming days.
Police also released the identity of the homicide victim stabbed near 13th and Cleveland on Saturday, September 7th. He is 27-year-old Fitzroy Willie. A 43-year-old Milwaukee woman is in custody -- and will be referred to the District Attorney in the coming days. The suspect and the victim knew each other prior to the victim's death.
Lastly, Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that happened near 20th and Mitchell St. around 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 8th. A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was shot while seated inside of a car and died at the scene. A 17-year-old male from Milwaukee was also shot and wounded while in the car. He fled the scene, but was later located at a nearby home. He was conveyed to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury and released. There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
