Milwaukee Police Department District 5 officers give back to family that's been through a lot

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers made an effort to give back to some of those they serve ahead of Christmas on Wednesday, December 23rd.

Officers with MPD's District Five played the role of Santa Claus for a family they adopted this holiday season.

The family has gone through a lot -- with the mother recently suffering a brain aneurysm, and receiving treatment in the hospital. The father is trying to work and make money for the family, while at the same time, be home for the holidays for the couple's three small children.

"Now having to deal with his wife who at this time is unable to work and then she's going to be coming home and a lot of new learning for her so she needs a lot of help and support and I'm just happy that we as a community here at District 5 can help them out," Milwaukee Police Officer Edward Ciano said.

Starbucks teamed up with the Milwaukee Police Department to supply gifts and food for this family.
