Man, nephew to stand trial in shooting death of Susan Hassell

MILWAUKEE -- Two men will stand trial in the shooting death of a woman on Milwaukee's south side.

28-year-old Alphonso Willis and his nephew, 17-year-old Earnest Jackson are accused of killing 48-year-old Susan Hassell. The two appeared in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, and pleaded not guilty.

According to court documents, the pair went to Hassell's apartment on March 2nd, demanding the $20 she apparently owed them. When Hassell refused to hand over the money, she was shot in the face.

The complaint says the victim was a crack cocaine user with a $500 to $600 a day habit.
