Man involved in shooting that lead to crash on I-43 is sentenced

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A man involved in a deadly shooting that led to a car crashing through a fence and down onto I-43 was sentenced on Thursday, March 6th.

The incident occurred on March 18th, 2013. Charges were filed in this case on March 23rd, 2012.

26-year-old Louis Hernandez will spend the next 18 months behind bars.

He was found guilty of harboring and aiding a felon. A charge of first degree intentional homicide was dismissed.

Hernandez pleaded guilty to the harboring and aiding a felon charge on January 29th.

Investigators say he was connected to the murder of 22-year-old Donovan Bond, who was a passenger in the car.

Another man, Anthony Perkins was shot and wounded from shots fired from another car alongside them.

Perkins apparently managed to climb into the backseat, open the back door and get out of the car before it rolled down a hill and onto I-43.

A second man was charged in this case. He is 22-year-old Joshua Rosa.

Rosa pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree reckless homicide on January 29th. A charge of first degree intentional homicide was dismissed.
