Madison couple celebrating over 70 years of marriage!

MADISON -- A Madison couple is celebrating more than 70 years of marriage!

Joseph and Rosemary Grout were recognized by the "Worldwide Marriage Encounter" as the longest married couple in the state of Wisconsin.



The two were married back in 1938, and from the start, they knew they would be together forever. "I don't remember a formal proposal, Joseph Grout said. "We just talked about it a lot. I do remember we were taking a walk in the park," Rosemary Grout said.

The Grouts say their secret is thinking of each other, and knowing when to apologize.
