"I would stand with him:" Thousands gather in West Bend to show support for Donald Trump

WEST BEND -- Donald Trump appeared before a capacity crowd at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Tuesday night, August 16th. But he is not your standard politician.

"I would stand with him even if it was just me alone," said Dragan Obradowic, a Trump supporter.

Trump is not afraid to ruffle feathers -- and that is exactly why many in the West Bend crowd are giving their support to him.

Larry Hamlin said what he likes best about Trump is that he is not Hillary Clinton.

"I'm here with my liberal daughter so she can maybe pick something up today and change her way of thinking," Hamlin said.

Hamlin's daughter is one of those rare undecided voters.

"Traditionally a Democrat," said Patti Repinski, Hamlin's daughter.

Outside of the West Bend rally, a quiet protest vows "Never Trump."

"We have no place for misogyny and xenophobia and bigotry and hate which he seems to espouse every time he opens his mouth," said Waring Fink.

This group indicates they will be surprised if Trump carries Wisconsin or the traditionally red Washington County.

"I have no idea why he's here. If the Marquette poll holds, I don't think there is any hope of him carrying Wisconsin," FInk said.

But the West Bend crowd says don't count Trump out -- or his ability to surprise.
