Green Bay teen to stand trial on charges he punched a teacher
GREEN BAY — A Green Bay high school student has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he punched a teacher in the face.
Seventeen-year-old Ridwaan Mohamud waived a preliminary hearing Friday, February 19th according to court records.
Mohamud faces a felony battery and a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/1Q6rZpn ) reports he's due back in court April 1st.
According to the complaint, the male Southwest High School teacher counseled Mohamud on December 18th about being bullied and told the boy he'd be willing to date him.
The teacher said he intended the remark as a joke and as a way to tell the boy he wasn't ugly. But the complaint says Mohamud walked into the teacher's class December 21st and punched him.
Mohamud's attorney did not return a phone call for comment Monday, February 22nd.
