GE Healthcare announces the layoff of 1.5% of its WI workforce

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting GE Healthcare is laying off 1.5% of its Wisconsin work force -- including as many as 50 jobs in the Milwaukee area.

According to the Business Journal, a company spokesman said the net number of job losses may be mitigated because the company will try to find alternative roles for employees whose positions are being eliminated.

GE Healthcare is one of the largest manufacturing employers in southeastern Wisconsin with about 3,000 employees in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, West Milwaukee and Waukesha. The company also has operations in Madison.
