FOUND SAFE: Greenfield police locate missing three-year-old girl; mother in custody

GREENFIELD (WITI) -- The Greenfield Police Department says three-year-old Savannah Dragoo-Peters has been located and is in protective custody.

Officials received multiple tips indicating the girl was at a Milwaukee residence in the 5000 block of N. 85th Street. She was found by officers inside the home around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, December 7th. Dragoo-Peters is said to be healthy and safe.

Greenfield police tell FOX6 News the girl will be placed with her aunt, who is the child's legal guardian.

The girl's mother, 24-year-old Britany Dragoo, was also inside the home on N. 85th Street. She was taken into custody without incident.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances of Savannah's disappearance. Charges against her mother are expected to be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office early this week.

The Wisconsin Crime Alert Network had issued an endangered missing child/adult alert for Britany Dragoo and Savannah Dragoo-Peters. The two were said to have been last seen on Thursday, December 4th, around 9:30 p.m. -- at 4893 South 122 St. in Greenfield.

Authorities believe three-year-old Savannah was taken by Britnay Dragoo, her biological mother. Britany Dragoo does not have custody rights, and according to police, she's a heroin addict.
