Former Lena's Food Market grocery store could be demolished, replaced with retail building

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A former Lena's Food Market grocery store in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood could be demolished and replaced with a new retail building.

The non-profit developer Riverworks Development Corporation is courting a national retailer to fill most of the building.

They say they're a few weeks away from sealing a lease agreement.

Pending approvals, construction work could start this winter and the retailer could move in next May.

The building is proposed on North Holton Street at East Concordia Avenue.
