Fire officials respond to fully-involved garage fire in Glendale

GLENDALE -- The North Shore Fire Department responded to a fully-involved garage fire on W. Applewood Lane early Monday morning, September 17th in Glendale.

Officials say the fire broke out just before 2 a.m. in a garage that was attached to a house at 2425 W. Applewood Lane.

Officials say the home did have working smoke detectors and say the fire was brought under control and extinguished quickly.

Fire officials say damage to the garage was extensive and the first floor and attic of the home sustained moderate damage. Officials say the total damage to the home is estimated at $80,000.

Authorities say there were no injuries to any fire personnel operating at the scene, however, the homeowner was treated for minor smoke inhalation.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
