Family of Dodge County car crash victim speaks out

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The family of Tiffany Stahr, the 31-year-old woman who caused a violent car wreck Thursday, June 6th, says they're heartbroken over the accident and hope everyone can learn something from it.

"Everybody liked her. She was beautiful," said Tiffany's mother, Jeanneane Stahr. "I miss her so much."

The Dodge County Sheriff says Stahr was driving on Highway 33 in the town of Herman when she hit a semi truck and lost control of her SUV. All four people, including a toddler, were ejected from the vehicle.

"I know how Tiffany is on the roads. She doesn't like to be by trucks, and she was trying to pass the truck and didn't make it," said family friend Rosa Smith.

The Sheriff's Department says when Stahr lost control of her vehicle she drifted into the other lane, striking two more vehicles.

53-year-old Milton Christison of Beaver Dam was also killed in the crash when Stahr's SUV hit his truck head on.

"It's just been hard," said Stahr's sister, Kara Stoney. "I feel bad for everyone involved."

Stahr had five children between the ages of eight and 12. None of them were in the car at the time of the accident. The family says this children will be split up and cared for by relatives.

It's unknown whether anyone in Stahr's vehicle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident but it does not appear that the toddler was in a car seat.

Stahr's mother has a message for everyone on the road, "I just want everybody to make sure they wear their seat belts, booster seats for the kids, have them buckled in," said Jeanneane.

The family says a fund for Tiffany's children has been established at US Bank.
