Extra patrols on the roads in Wisconsin for Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign

MILWAUKEE -- Law enforcement agencies across the state have extra patrols out on the roads starting this weekend, August 21st. It's all part of the 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign.

Saturday, August 22nd FOX6 News cameras got to ride along with the South Milwaukee Police Department as they were out patrolling, looking for impaired drivers.

If you've had too much to drink, police say the worst thing you can do is get behind the wheel.

"We don't want accidents, we don't want to take anybody to jail for drunk driving. If they make that decision not to drive ahead of time, and be the responsible driver, that's kind of what we're hoping for," said South Milwaukee Police Officer, Chris Rohde.

The Drive Sober campaign lasts through September 7th.
