Elderly woman walks into Colorado police station, asks for a hug

ARVADA, Colorado -- A great thing happened at a police station in Arvada, Colorado on Monday.

The woman picked up a dispatch phone in the lobby of the Lake Arbor police station and explained how she was upset by the recent loss of officers across the country.

She then asked for a hug.

Within seconds, a sergeant responded: "This is Cruiser 12 -- I'll come get that hug," CBS News reported. But another officer beat him to it. Chris Steiner, a 20-year veteran, got the hug.

"While a bit of a reach because of his size, she managed to get ahold of him and hugged him great; not once but twice!!!!" the department said in the Facebook post.
