Delay in plea deal for man accused of beating, strangling girlfriend

MILWAUKEE -- There has been a delay in a plea deal for a man accused of beating and strangling his live-in girlfriend to death.

Darrick Bennett was in Milwaukee County court for a plea hearing Monday morning. Bennett is charged with first degree reckless homicide.

Bennett's lawyer says he has not had enough time to review a plea agreement with prosecutors.

The judge set a date in June to start a trial if a plea agreement cannot be reached.
