Coming together to help a beloved police officer: Whiskey Bar hosts fundraiser for Chris Blaszak

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Folks gathered at Whiskey Bar in downtown Milwaukee on Sunday, November 9th to offer support for a beloved Milwaukee police officer.

Chris Blaszak has been diagnosed with cancer of the jaw. He has been through four surgeries and even had a transplant. That transplant didn't take, and Blaszak's family says the cancer continues to spread.

Blaszak's medical bills are piling up.

Turning out to show support on Sunday were a number of his brothers in arms.

Blaszak is a police officer, and also a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force.

Whiskey Bar helped to organize Sunday's fundraiser. It included a silent auction and a raffle.

A percentage of sales will help pay Blaszak's medical bills.
