Blast, fire after Louisiana pipeline ruptures

(CNN) -- A 30-inch natural gas line ruptured Tuesday morning in eastern Louisiana, sparking an explosion and a fire, authorities said.

No fatalities have been reported. The line extends from Texas to Florida, said Vicki Granado, spokeswoman for Energy Transfer -- the pipeline operator.

The ruptured segment has been isolated and gas in that portion of the line has been turned off. Energy Transfer can reroute gas around the section that has been damaged, Granado said.
