Are you a new drone owner? Here's how to register with the FAA...
MILWAUKEE -- One of the hottest holiday gifts has received a warning from the FAA. Those who are proud new owners of a drone should be following the proper FAA protocol, or you might be facing a fine.
According to the FAA, effective December 21st, all drones need to be registered before flying outdoors.
If you owned a drone before December 21st, you have until February 19th to register.
The fine for failing to register is more than $27,000 -- compared to the $5 registration online.
