Amazing act of heroism caught on camera: Five-year-old saves mother from drowning in pool

TAFT, Texas -- An amazing act of heroism was caught on camera. A five-year-old girl was able to save her mother from drowning in their backyard pool.

What Allison Anderwald did to save her mother's life takes incredible strength.

"I woke up in the hospital bed and had no idea where I was," Tracy Anderwald said.

Tracy had no idea she had suffered a seizure while swimming. She nearly drowned.

It happened on Friday, March 18th and the incident was captured by surveillance cameras.

Allison Anderwald, realizing something was wrong, dove into the water and pulled her mother to the shallow end of the pool. It took several tries, but the little girl didn't give up.

Once in the shallow end, Allison turned her mother over, pulled her head above water, and then went inside for help. Her sisters and her aunt raced to the pool.

"She was really heavy, and I could only get the top part of her out, and then her other daughters ran over and helped me get her out. Allison was able to do that on her own. It's a miracle," Tedra Hunt said.

Allison has been swimming since she was two-and-a-half years old.

Summer jobs as a lifeguard might be in her future!

"I know. I think I see some potential there," Hunt said.

Allison didn't have much to say about her heroic deed. She was simply grateful to be in her mother's arms after this terrifying ordeal.
