Peris Rice
Police have arrested Peris Rice on charges of cruelty to animals.
According to FOX6's sister station, FOX8 in Cleveland, witnesses say they saw Rice beating the dog with a leather belt, and then striking the dog in the face with a brick before choking him.
FOX8 reports the dog had injuries to its face, legs and paws -- and when police arrived on scene, the dog jumped into the front seat of a squad car.
Now, FOX8 reports there's a happy ending.
The police officer who has been fostering the dog has decided to adopt him, and name him Harvard.
