"A nice plane:" JetBlue Airbus featured at EAA could change standard for commercial flying in U.S.

OSHKOSH -- EAA AirVenture is underway -- and there is plenty to see, with more than 10,000 aircraft on display in Oshkosh, including one plane that could change the standard for commercial flying here in the United States.

While it looks impressive from the outside, what's inside the JetBlue Airbus A321 was making an impression at EAA AirVenture.

Ray Argyle is from Michigan. He came to EAA AirVenture with his grandson to check out the state-of-the art model.

"Lovely. It's a nice plane. Looks like a lot more seat room than some of the flights that we've gone on," Argyle said.

Some of the main features of the 190-seat aircraft include the extra leg room and live DirectTV access.

While the aircraft has an innovative focus on comfort, JetBlue officials said it's also noteworthy that it was manufactured by Airbus in the United States for the first time.

"The general growth really of a great aircraft manufacturer who before that time had never built an airplane on U.S. soil to commit to the United States and the technology and the jobs and skill-set that the U.S. workforce. It's a real special opportunity for us to have this aircraft at Oshkosh with our partners from JetBlue showing off America's manufacturing," Bart Roberts, VP of flight for Jet Blue said.
